Paddle Boarding

We are Happy to be introducing a new service to Swim Paws. I believe at the time we are launching this, We are the UK’s only Dog swimming company to offer this kind of training

.

Paddle Paws by Swim Paws.

The session will begin with an introduction to the session and the paddleboarding team while
ensuring the dog who is partaking in the session has no ailments that could be damaged
further by this activity.
The team will then take the dog towards the rear of the pool area where the paddleboard will
be balanced on a piece of wood to stimulate a wave in the pool. The dog will then be
encouraged to get comfortable around and on the board which can include giving a reward
such as a treat when the dog gets near/on the paddleboard.
The dog will then have a quick rinse in the bath to ensure all muck and dirt is removed from
their fur. During this rinse session, a life jacket will be provided for the dog and must wear
this during their Paddleboarding experience.
The dog will then be taken up the ramp and encouraged back onto the paddleboard at the
level of the pool, the paddleboard will then be placed in the water with a member of our team
already situated on the board within the pool, once the dog is on the board, the team will
encourage the dog to get comfortable and keep hold of the dog while on the board. If the
dog does jump off the board, the member of the team on the board will safely get the dog
back on the pool platform and back on the paddle board.
If the dog gets comfortable with being on the board in still water, the team will provide a
wave with the built in jets within our pool and gradually bring a stronger current into place.
As the session progresses, the paddle boarding instructor will track progress in the pool to
recover in the next session with the dog.
At the end of the session, the dog will have a complimentary shampoo and blow dry routine
to ensure all chlorine particles are out of their fur with a choice of smelly sprays to maintain a
sweet smelling pup!
