Hilary Wells with Pep the Cavalier
So here goes
Pep is adopted through Bliss Cavalier Rescue
When he first came to live with us, he had zero muscle tone as he had been left to god and providence
Through our behaviorist, we came across Swim Paws, which we knew would help him build up his strength and stamina with zero impact on his joints
5 years later we still go religiously every week as it’s amazing exercise for him as he has arthritis, so it’s less stress on his joints – plus the warm water is very helpful – this along side his physio every 6 weeks is helping him massively.
One thing I must mention is that Pep has a heart murmur (it’s a cavvie thing sadly) and all of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and mindful of the importance of making sure Pep has plenty of rests in between swims
The only operation he’s had was to have his anal glands removed which he recovered from very well
Swim Paws’s is not only brilliant for Pep, but for me too – the atmosphere is very warm and all of the staff welcome you with open arms
I would highly recommend taking your fur baby here for exercise especially if they have mobility issues – it will do them a power of good!!
Rebecca Cleasby with Ruby

Our beautiful, gentle, calm Romanian rescue dog Ruby, came to us with severe elbow dysplasia she also has an issue with ulcerations on her back paw. She had a stem cell transplant for the elbow dysplasia. This has helped but she still has pain and is on medication for this. Julie at SwimPaws team has been amazing with her, she enjoys her swims, especially her baths and head rubs!
Julie has worked with her to build up her swimming ability/stamina, confidence, loosen and relax her joints while also strengthening them and lose some excess weight. Ruby gets excited when we turn into the road leading to the car park. On many occasions she has gone in limping and come out bouncing and pain free. Julie is amazing, friendly, dedicated, caring and understanding of Ruby (and me!).
We love a good chat and catch up. It’s a fabulous set up and I love taking her and watching her ability grow and pain reduce and weight lost. The pool definitely helps Ruby get some great exercise without hurting and also her swimming ability has improved so much we can happily and safely let her swim when she’s out and about. Honestly everyone with a dog should give this a go, whether it’s for weight management, fitness, dogs nervous of water, physio needs, fun or a days exercise. Thank you Julie and SwimPaws! Love Rebecca and Ruby 🐾🐕🦺🐾🐕🦺🐾xx.
