Hilary Wells with Pep the Cavalier
So here goes
Pep is adopted through Bliss Cavalier Rescue
When he first came to live with us, he had zero muscle tone as he had been left to god and providence
Through our behaviorist, we came across Swim Paws, which we knew would help him build up his strength and stamina with zero impact on his joints
5 years later we still go religiously every week as it’s amazing exercise for him as he has arthritis, so it’s less stress on his joints – plus the warm water is very helpful – this along side his physio every 6 weeks is helping him massively.
One thing I must mention is that Pep has a heart murmur (it’s a cavvie thing sadly) and all of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and mindful of the importance of making sure Pep has plenty of rests in between swims
The only operation he’s had was to have his anal glands removed which he recovered from very well
Swim Paws’s is not only brilliant for Pep, but for me too – the atmosphere is very warm and all of the staff welcome you with open arms
I would highly recommend taking your fur baby here for exercise especially if they have mobility issues – it will do them a power of good!!
