Once they had our money they didn’t want to know and couldn’t get us out fast enough. Very rude and unprofessional. Julie took time to bond with Buddy before entering the pool area. She then calmly took him through to have a shower before entering the pool itself, which reassured me that hygiene and cleanliness are given priority.
He was then lead to the heated pool and very calmly in his buoyancy aide lead into the water. He was quite nervous but under no pressure and was just given time to get a feel of the pool.
Julie would bring him back to the steps after each length so that he knew he could get out and rest and was spoken to in a clam friendly way to reassure him building that bond and that trust. Lots of stops and rests to gain his trust and lots of reassuring voices praising him along the way.
After the session he was shampooed and dried off and as happy as Larry.
Could not fault the care and the cleanliness. Little shop to buy essentials, so he got a towelling robe to keep him warm after his swim as that is important, as was the advice.
I would definitely recommend this establishment to any dog owner who truly loves their dog and has it’s welfare as their priority. Sessions are designed to build confidence and from that be fun.
He got a little treat as we were leaving. Bekki loves splashing around in her garden pool, our first visit went very well. Bekki was treated well and handled in the water in a calm and patient manner, being her first visit her time in the pool was well controlled and not too long. She had a stem cell transplant for this... almost a year ago. This has helped but she still has pain and is on medication for this. The SwimPaws team have been amazing with her, she enjoys her swims (and especially her baths!). Jamie has always ensured she doesn’t jump in/out onto her front legs and has worked with her to build up her swimming ability/stamina, confidence and lose some excess weight. Ruby gets excited when we turn into the car park. On more than one occasion she has gone in limping and come out bouncing! The team are amazing, friendly, dedicated, caring and understanding of Ruby. It’s a fabulous set up and we love taking her fortnightly, watching her ability grow and having a chat. The pool definitely helps Ruby get some great exercise without hurting and also her swimming ability has improved so much we can happily let her swim when she’s out and about. Indie was really poorly and an after effect she put on weight. been 10+ years joint... problem's was also an issue so thought we give swimming ago, she loves it, wish we gone years ago! Jamie is relaxed, patient and gets to know your dog and how your dog likes to swim. Emma has a gift all dogs seem to like her, Indies a diva and fussy who she lets touch her but with Emma she let's her blow dry her off after the swim bath. the place is spotless aswell.
i couldn't recommend anywhere else or a nicer couple, made us feel very welcome and at ease from day one.
